Analyst, Mechanical
Altus Group is seeking a Cost Analyst, Mechanical within their Cost Consulting & Project Management division in Calgary. The role involves providing technical support for cost consulting services and managing client relationships while performing mechanical takeoffs and cost estimates.
Responsibilities
- Provide a full range of cost estimates at various stages of the design process, from conceptual design to pre-tender stage for new and existing clients
- Inspect and assess mechanical elements throughout various building and infrastructure projects, along with full trade and elemental take-off’s
- Performing mechanical takeoffs using assorted means and methods
- Collaborate with various internal/external partners to obtain the necessary information to prepare reports
- Assist with Lifecycle Analysis (cost estimate, current condition, remaining life, maintenance cost, etc.)
- Maintaining ongoing client communication and resolving issues as required. Escalating issues to the next level of management as required
- Managing client relationships in a manner that leads to contract renewal, referrals and service expansion including up-sells and cross-sells
Skills
- 1-2+ years of related experience in mechanical cost consulting/estimating
- An understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems and how they work in various types of buildings
- Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written & presentation. Self-motivated with a high degree of integrity, honesty and ethics
- Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and on-screen take-off
- Understanding of the construction industry - development, contracting & consultant services
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Mechanical Engineering/Technologist or trade related experience would be an asset
- Utilization of CIQS standard method of measurement – elemental/trade, Uniformat, working towards PQS and / or MRICS designation is an asset
