COBOL / SQL Developer
Job Title: COBOL / SQL Developer Fulltime with Infinite Computer Solutions Remote Role We're looking for a versatile COBOL/SQL Developer who combines strong business analysis skills with hands-on development expertise. In this hybrid role, you'll work directly with stakeholders to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and deliver high-quality custom applications.
What You'll Do
- Partner with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
- Lead discovery sessions, workshops, and solution discussions.
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support custom applications and enhancements.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts.
- Build and maintain COBOL programs for batch and online processing systems.
- Troubleshoot production issues and enhance existing applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years of experience in custom or application development.
- Strong business analysis and requirements gathering experience.
- Hands-on SQL development experience, including queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
- Hands-on COBOL programming experience (batch and/or online systems).
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience working in Agile or structured SDLC environments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Client-facing experience with the ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements.
Nice to Have
- Financial services or transactional systems experience.
- Mainframe knowledge (DB2, JCL).
- Experience with data integration, conversions, or legacy modernization.
- Exposure to reporting or analytics tools.
