[Remote] RPG Support Engineer
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Vaco by Highspring is looking for an RPG Support Engineer to provide fractional support for operational oversight and maintenance tasks. The role includes responsibilities such as overseeing daily batch processing, addressing minor bugs, and assisting with production outages and data conversion activities.
Responsibilities
- Operational oversight of daily batch and weekend processing
- Minor bug fixes as required
- Assist in triage for production outage events
- Assist in developing and supporting data conversion activities for Program Mayfly
Skills
- Project start: Immediately. Current resource's last day is 7/10
- Work hours availability: 6am - 9pm EST
- Fractional support of ~ 20 hours/week
- There may be some weeks where it could be up to 30 hours
- Operational oversight of daily batch and weekend processing
- Minor bug fixes as required
- Assist in triage for production outage events
- Assist in developing and supporting data conversion activities for Program Mayfly
- Contract duration: 1 year minimum
- ISeries OS version: V7R5M0
- Version of RPG: Newer code is RPGLE. Some programs in SQLRPGLE and a few written in free format
- DB version: Home grown
- Environments: There are 3 partitions: production, development, and test
- Code migration tools between environments: Rocket (Aldon) DevOps Rel 10.3
- Developer IDE: Rocket (Aldon) DevOps Rel 10.3
- Code Repository/Code Management: Rocket (Aldon) DevOps Rel 10.3
