[Remote] Senior Manager – Data Engineering

Tredence Inc. is a company focused on data engineering solutions, and they are seeking a Senior Manager – Data Engineering to architect and lead the development of scalable data platforms. The role involves mentoring a team, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving the adoption of modern data engineering practices.
Responsibilities
- Architect and lead the development of scalable, high-performance data platforms and pipelines that support enterprise analytics, reporting, and machine learning initiatives
- Design end-to end data architecture including data lakes, data vaults, semantic layers, and real-time/ batch ETL pipelines to ensure robust, secure, and reliable data infrastructure
- Mentor and manage a high-performing team of data engineers, architects, and designers by providing technical leadership, guidance on best practices, and growth opportunities through code reviews, architectural planning, and hands-on support
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, product managers, and data scientists to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Define and enforce data governance, data quality, and data security standards, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations
- Drive the adoption of modern data engineering
- Lead the evaluation and implementation of cloud-native technologies to modernize legacy systems and support digital transformation initiatives
- Enable self-service analytics and business intelligence by architecting curated and governed data products and semantic models
- Conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization of cloud-based data infrastructure and analytics workloads
- Contribute to the enterprise data strategy, roadmaps, and platform modernization by staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies
Skills
- Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Data Science, Engineering (any), or related field
- Five (5) years of experience in the job offered or a related position
- Demonstrable knowledge of: Azure Databricks; Azure Synapse Analytics; Azure SQL DB; Snowflake; SAP DataSphere; Python; Teradata; Power BI; SAP BOBJ, and; Predictive Modelling
- Travel to unanticipated client locations throughout the U.S. approximately 30%, as required
- May telecommute from any location within the U.S
