Short-Form Video Content Creator

About the Opportunity World Animal Protection US is seeking a Short-Form Video Content Creator to transform raw video footage into compelling, vertical, story-driven content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts. This is a contractor role, ideal for a creative video editor who is also an animal advocate and understands how to communicate animal protection stories in an engaging, platform-native way. The goal of this role is to grow our brand awareness, reach new audiences, and expand our following through high-quality short-form video content. Scope of Work The contractor will be responsible for:

• Editing raw video footage provided by World Animal Protection US into engaging, vertical short-form videos optimized for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts
• Producing approximately 6-8 videos per month, delivered on an agreed-upon schedule
• Crafting story-driven content that educates, inspires, and motivates audiences around animal protection issues
• Applying platform best practices (hooks, pacing, captions, trends, audio, etc.) to maximize engagement
• Appearing on camera for select TikTok- Reels-style content
• Collaborating with the World Animal Protection US communications team as reasonably necessary for campaign and messaging alignment
• Delivering content on mutually agreed-upon delivery dates
• Participating in periodic check-in calls with the Communications Department for project alignment

Revision Structure:

• Each video includes up to 1-2 rounds of reasonable revisions, with additional rounds subject to separate mutual agreement

Reporting & Analytics

• Track performance metrics such as views, engagement, follower growth, and reach
• Prepare monthly performance reports summarizing growth, trends, and recommendations using platform analytics and/or social media analytics tools
• Use insights to inform future content strategy and creative direction

Intellectual Property & Usage Rights All final deliverables created under this engagement will be considered “work made for hire,” with World Animal Protection US retaining full ownership and usage rights across platforms, channels, and campaigns unless otherwise agreed in writing. Ideal Candidate This role is a great fit for someone who:

• Is an animal activist and deeply familiar with animal advocacy issues
• Has demonstrated experience creating short-form video content for TikTok, Instagram Reels, and/or YouTube Shorts
• Understands how to tell compelling stories in under 60 seconds
• Is comfortable appearing on camera and speaking directly to audiences
• Has strong video editing skills and a clear sense of pacing, tone, and storytelling
• Is familiar with social media analytics and performance reporting
• Works independently, meets deadlines, and communicates clearly
• Is committed to DEIAB principles and thoughtfully incorporates them into the content they create.

Contract Details

• This is an independent contractor role, not a full-time or part-time staff position
• Contractor shall supply and maintain, at their own expense, all equipment, software, and platform subscriptions necessary to perform the services outlined in this agreement.
• Compensation will be project-based or monthly-retainer-based depending on scope and experience. Further details will be outlined in a separate Contractor Agreement or Statement of Work.
• Expected deliverables include 6-8 videos per month, plus monthly analytics reporting
• Content should follow basic accessibility best practices (e.g. captions, readable text overlays) and comply with platform community guidelines
• Occasional coordination during US business hours preferred
